Sad news

Upon checking my email when I got home tonight I heard the sad news that fellow Daynoter Mike Barkman has passed away.

My deepest condolences go out to his family. May he rest in peace.

I'm sorry to hear the news. I have been folloiwng his blog on a regualr basis for a few years now, always finding what Mike had to say to be interesting, and making me think I;d love to head down to New Zealand to see what he has written about.

I will admit I had at times wondered how long poor Mike would hang in there. I can appreciate what his family must be going through; my eldest sister was diagnosed with, and died from colon-cancer in less than a year, and my wife's step father has just been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and possible liver-cancer.
