A Nation of Wimps

From Psychology Today:

Parents are going to ludicrous lengths to take the bumps out of life for their children. However, parental hyperconcern has the net effect of making kids more fragile; that may be why they're breaking down in record numbers.

It's a long article but well worth reading.

I believe this article illustrates very effectively where our society is going. The wrong way.
Things are often made too easy for people in our society to obtain and there is a general attitude that personal accountability/responsibility is unimportant.
I am no recruiter, but the military is quickly becoming the last place that young adults are held responsible for their actions and there is little Mommy or Daddy can do for them, while their offspring is in service, forcing them to GROW UP!!
In a nation of wimps it's no wonder so few people truly understand the implications of the turmoil in the middle east. It's no wonder the ACLU has twisted itself and blinded us and has attempted to smear our constitution which a few brave men fought and died for. Lest I think we did forget.
